When possible, keep the tooth stored in cold milk, and when handling be sure to handle by the white part, avoiding any contact with the root itself to prevent further damage. If this method is not possible, try to reinsert the tooth temporarily into place. The amount of time your tooth is out of its socket plays a big part in the success of saving the tooth, so act fast!
